Our history

As one of the original Apprenticeships Centres in NSW, Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre has been helping businesses with apprenticeships and traineeships for more than 13 years.

The Australian Business Employment Network (ABEN) was established in May 1998 by Australian Business Limited, now the NSW Business Chamber, as part of its business growth strategy.

In 2003, the Australian Business Employment Network changed its name to Australian Business Limited New Apprenticeships Centre (ABLNAC) to more accurately reflect its role as a provider of apprenticeships services

In 2006, Australian Business Limited New Apprenticeships Centre removed “New” from its name to become Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre (ABLAC) reflecting the Australian Government’s change from New Apprenticeships Centres to Australian Apprenticeships Centres.

Over the following years, Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre continued to develop.

In 2007, Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre joined forces with other business chamber aligned apprenticeships centres across Australia to found the Australian Apprenticeships Alliance (AAA), a national network of apprenticeships centres.

In July 2010, Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre launched a mentoring program for employers and their apprentices.

Since establishment Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre has grown with over 150 staff in more than 25 locations around NSW and actively supports business with a range of services to utilise apprenticeships and traineeships successfully.
