Promoting apprenticeships and traineeships amongst key priority groups
ABL Apprenticeships Centre’s experienced consultants are dedicated to meeting the needs of key priority groups by increasing the awareness and uptake of Australian apprenticeships and traineeships. The key priority groups are:
Indigenous Australians
Through links with Indigenous employment agencies, various Aboriginal Corporations, councils and participation in indigenous jobs fairs, we promote apprenticeships and traineeships to the Indigenous community
People with a disability
We work closely with disability agencies to support the take up of Australian Apprenticeships among people living with a disability and provide information on the incentives available through Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS)
Mature aged workers
We work with Job Services Australia (JSA) and other specialist agencies to assist with the uptake of mature age people into apprenticeships and traineeships
Australian School-based Apprenticeships
Through school visits and skillsroad.com.au, ABL Apprenticeships Centre promotes the initiative that gets students involved in an apprenticeship or traineeship while still in high school ABL Apprenticeships Centre is also actively involved with careers advisors, including attendance at the Careers Advisors Australia (CAA) NSW Annual Conference providing them with information needed to support their students
Skills Needs Occupations
ABL Apprenticeships Centre advises which occupations are on the National Skills Shortage List and promotes the range of incentives available to employers as well as apprentices and trainees
